Patrick Shea’s graduation from Loyola High School, June 1990

Patrick Shea’s graduation from Loyola High School, June 1990, in the NDG neighbourhood of Montreal. From left to right: Kevin, Margaret (McIninch), Brigid, Patrick, Kathleen, and Peter Shea. Loyola was founded by the Jesuits in 1848 as the bilingual (French-English) St. Mary’s College and was subsequently spun out in 1896 as a stand-alone Englishlanguage Loyola College, where
Irish-Catholic students were in the majority for many decades thereafter. Patrick’s grandfather Percy Shea was a member of the Loyola Class of 1922, Patrick’s father Peter Shea was a member of the Class of 1961, and Patrick’s oldest son Liam is a member of the Class of 2023, making the Shea the first fourth generation family in the long and storied history of Loyola.
