Ernest Warren, Grand Master of the Grand Black Chapter of Canada

Ernest Warren (left), then Grand Master of the Grand Black Chapter of Canada of the Royal Black Knights of Ireland, with Brian (right), who had just been elected as Provincial Grand Master of the Grand Black Chapter of Nova Scotia, 1999. The Black Chapter is to the Orange Lodge like the Shriners are to the Masons. In order to be a member of the Grand Black Chapter, which is organized into Royal Black Preceptories and its members called Royal Black Knights, you must first belong to an Orange Lodge, just as all Shriners are first Masons.
There has not been a Provincial Black Chapter in Nova Scotia in over 10 years. Brian is still a member and belong to a Royal Black Preceptory in Toronto. His recently published book The Royal Black Knights in Canada, available on Amazon, describes the history and workings of this Institution. It is the first of its kind to ever have been published.
